Lead Platform Engineer

The Lead Linux Platform Engineer will be a critical member of the Global Linux Server Platform team at Ecolab, Inc. This position is in a high-paced and demanding environment which requires clear time management skills, self-directed organizational skills, and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate is a self-starter, self-disciplined with their work, and often going above and beyond what is needed/requested. Furthermore, as a global company, this role will work alongside many IT associates with a multi-cultural and multi-lingual background with English as a second language.What You Will Do:Technical lead for our Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). Create and maintain AAP playbooks for automated disaster recovery and Linux operational work.Provide operational support of the companies ~600 Linux based servers. This includes both OnPrem and Cloud based servers. IncludingProvide server admin support related to resolving break/fix type incidents in the team queueInstall, configure, upgrade, patch and maintain Linux servers, ensuring high availability and scalability.Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.Work closely with network engineers, SAP engineers, database administrators, and application developers.Participate in major IT projects related to the Linux platform.Participating in Security, Vulnerability and Patching related initiatives for Linux PlatformMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience8 years of IT experience5 years of UNIX (SLES and RHEL Linux, AIX a plus) Server experience5 years of Ansible experience.Flexibility to work nights and weekends, participating in on-call rotationsExpertise in Creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks.Expertise in SLES, RHEL and AIX OS supportProficiency in shell scripting and automation.Experience with AzureNo Immigration Sponsorship availablePreferred Qualifications:Experience with SUSE Multi-Linux ManagementExperience with containers and KubernetesExperience with supporting SLES for SAP.GCP and AWS Cloud experience.Annual or Hourly Compensation RangeThe base salary range for this position is $107,600.00 - $161,500.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms.
