Registered Nurse 1 (NY HELPS)

Registered NurseParticipate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient care.Act as health liaison.Coordinate and schedule medical follow-up, including completion of consultations.Provide first aid and emergency nursing care.Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individual.Attend team reviews and present information, as needed.Meet documentation requirement i.e. obtaining & transcribing physicians' orders, daily nursing note, health charts, medication regimen reviews and case review summaries.Provide medication administration.Maintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, medical supplies.Participate in staff training.Prepare clinical and administrative reports.Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.Minimum Qualifications:Open to the Public: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).*To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position. The qualifications for are:Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.Salary Schedule for the position is as follows:$96,147* - $105,138 - Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18 and Geographic Differential ($20,000).*Additional compensation above the hiring rate may apply depending on the candidate's training and experience.NY HELPSThis title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position. For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.It is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
