About the Position

Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Required Certifications: BLS, CPR, Safe program Must-Have: Travel experience required Previous Charge experience: 1 year Patient ratio experience: 1:11 Charting system experience preferred (Epic) Description: Will be responsible for pediatric and adolescent patients only, ages 5-17. Must possess travel experience. Candidates should have experience in managing a patient population with behavioral health needs. Skills required include crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and medication administration. The role includes responsibilities related to various mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and psychotic disorders. Must be proficient in behavior management techniques and familiar with physical hold protocols. Should be able to interpret and communicate lab values effectively. The unit supports an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Candidates should be comfortable working in a locked unit environment and managing self-injurious behavior. Experience with medication protocols for mood stabilizers and antipsychotics is essential.
