Clinical Supervisor

Coordinates the general and technical supervision of departmental personnel (1st & 2ndfloor) to include remote employees in accordance with clinic, governmental and otherregulatory standards (i.e. CLIA and OSHA)2. Ensures achievement clinical goals and objectives within established budgetaryguidelines3. Recommends and implements departmental policies and procedures. Updates staff onchanges.4. Participates in the assessment of staffing needs. Maintains master work schedule.5. Participates in nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance andrestoration of patient’s health and wellness.6. Evaluates patient care needs. Suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems andcomplaints.7. Assists in the training, orientation and performance evaluation of departmental personnel.8. Interviews and hires staff for the needs of the office.9. Assigns duties and trains staff. Gives guidance and counsel. Provides in-serviceeducation.10. Maintains departmental payroll records. Approves time cards and overtime.11. Reviews departmental supply requisitions. Tracks and analyzes clinical expenses.12. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.13. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.Attends conferences and workshops.14. Resolves customer service issues for the department.15. Maintains patient confidentiality.16. Performs related work as assigned by the Clinic Manager, Chief OperationsAdministrator, Medical Director, or Clinical Staff Educator.17. Acts as the VFC Coordinator and maintains the following duties: inventory, ordering,tracking and monitoring the refrigerator/freezer temps and data loggers.Job Requirements/Qualifications: (Describe minimum qualifications, preferred or required)Education: Graduation from an accredited medical assisting or nursing program.Experience: Two years of professional clinical experience including one year of supervisorylevel experience.Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluatepatient care. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administerpatient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development to train staff Knowledge ofcommon safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursingto provide on-going patient care. Skill in identifying problems and researching recommendedsolutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, written reports and responding tocorrespondence. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill inestablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and thepublic.Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to supervise the members of a health careteam. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adaptand apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.Licenses/Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical Assisting Degree orDiploma from accredited Allied Health Professional Education Institution or valid NursingLicense in the state of TN, if applicable. CPR certificationWorking Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, substances, medicinalpreparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients,manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking forextensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires correct vision and hear ng to normal range.
