HR Generalist

We are currently looking for a Full Time HR Generalist to join our Human Resources Health and Family Services team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary: Responsibilities:* Investigates employee relations issues as the lead investigator or investigation coordinator for workplace complaints, allegations, and policy violations by interviewing, collecting and analyzing documentary, electronic, and testimonial evidence, documenting investigative findings in detailed written reports, providing fact based conclusions and recommendations and ensuring a "People First" culture is upheld and that appropriate next steps are taken based on all the facts of the investigation
* Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, separations, and investigations
* Facilitates and manages employee grievance meetings and documentation
* Serves as a subject matter expert to advise managers on employee relations issues, including consulting, reviewing, and recommending disciplinary actions, demotions, and separations
* Responsible for producing comprehensive documentation to support unemployment claims and employment separations appeals, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in the process
* Coach management to ensure employees receive objective reviews and clear communication about their performance. When performance issues arise, help identify root causes to support effective improvements
* Handles employment-related inquiries from non-employees, employees, and supervisors, and citizens referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
* Performs reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing
* Partners with management and benefits to support employees seeking protected leave or returning from leave with restrictions
* Advise leadership on the interpretation and application of internal policies, practices, and procedures, grounded in tribal sovereignty and internal standards, to ensure consistent and fair management decisions regarding rewards, evaluations, and discipline
* Ensures compliance with tribal codes, applicable labor laws, and various regulatory and accrediting agencies (e.g., gaming commission, joint commission)
* Carries a profound responsibility in balancing sovereignty with fair employment practices, navigating exemptions that demand deep cultural and legal insight
* Routinely audits data for accuracy and compliance
* May engage in detailed compliance activities related to licensure and qualification verification in complex regulatory environments
* Engages in strategic consultation on matters related to workforce best practices, workforce development, risk assessment, and conflict resolution
* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Develop partnerships inside and outside of HR to contribute to job evaluation, strategy implementation, and organizational changes by combining an in-depth understanding of all jobs within assigned area and HR Strategy
* Engages in proactive data analysis, (e.g., strength, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT), onboarding program creation and evaluation, skills gap analysis, and turnover evaluation)
* Create reports using the HRIS system to ensure management decisions are based on accurate data (such as headcount reporting, performance management, etc.)
* May provide administrative functions such as entering transactional data into the HRIS system, coordination of severance processing, performance management, and ensuring performance standards are maintained
* Administers annual appraisals, providing technical, document maintenance, and auditing support Competencies:

* Knowledgeable in APA Protocol and Style manual, with a strong ability to adhere to formatting, citation, and referencing guidelines
* Knowledge of Human Resources HR strategy, employment law, job analysis, organizational development, talent acquisition
* Demonstrates effective oral and written communication
* Must work under hard deadlines
* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
* Interpersonal skills to motivate, investigate, inspire
* Ability to address large groups through presentations and/or speeches Skills:
