Embedded Software Engineer

Locations: North Reading, MA OR Sunnyvale, CA (5 days/week Onsite) Work Authorization: Open to all visa types Role Overview & Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance software solutions in C and C++ for Linux-based and embedded system test platforms. Build software that interfaces directly with hardware and operating system components while providing robust APIs to higher-level applications. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex hardware/software integration issues across board-level and system-level components. Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software teams, and product managers to deliver solutions for advanced semiconductor test systems. Utilize modern Agile software practices including sprint planning, bug tracking, code reviews, and retrospectives. Leverage Python scripting for build automation, test execution, and system tooling. Required Qualifications & Skills: Strong hands-on experience in C and C++ development for embedded and system-level applications. Proven track record debugging complex hardware/software integration challenges and multithreaded software. Hands-on experience with embedded communication protocols and hardware buses (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe). Experience working in Agile software development teams. Strong communication, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills. Availability to work 5 days/week onsite in North Reading, MA or Sunnyvale, CA. Preferred Qualifications: Python scripting experience for test automation and tooling.
