We are seeking a skilled Clinic Lead LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to join our Family Medicine clinic team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, support healthcare practitioners, and help oversee daily clinical operations. The Clinic Lead LPN is responsible for rooming patients, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, reconciling medications, administering medications, and assisting with medical procedures. Additional duties include performing basic lab tests, blood draws, managing prior authorizations, scheduling appointments, handling medication refills, and maintaining clinic supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner.

  • Room patients and accurately record vital signs, height, weight, and chief complaints.

  • Gather brief clinical history including pain status, allergies, and current medications.

  • Report patient rooming information and clinical findings to the provider.

  • Perform specific patient care based on individualized medical care plans.

  • Assess patients according to chief complaint and identify abnormal clinical or mental symptoms.

  • Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and complete point of care testing.

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform blood draws.

  • Assist with patient admission and discharge processes, including explaining discharge instructions.

  • Administer medications and immunizations through oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, and inhalation routes.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in electronic health records using approved medical abbreviations.

  • Perform emergency treatment as required following standard basic life support protocols.

  • Promote patient safety, maintain clean exam rooms, and follow infection control guidelines.

  • Stock nurse stations and exam rooms, monitor expiration dates, and order clinic supplies.

  • Report non-functioning or defective clinic equipment to the supervisor immediately.

  • Follow infectious disease controls including hand hygiene, proper glove use, and isolation procedures.

Clinic Lead Responsibilities

  • Assist the clinic director with creating the monthly clinic schedule.

  • Assist with the bi-annual review of clinical policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with daily, weekly, and monthly clinic operational tasks.

  • Monitor and record refrigerator temperatures and track medication outdates.

  • Maintain the sample medication log and complete monthly quality control checks.

  • Review and follow up on API submissions.

  • Serve as a clinical mentor for newly hired staff members.

  • Assist with quarterly chart audits and lead process improvement initiatives in the clinics.

  • Serve as a basic life support instructor.

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse LPN license in the state of Missouri.

  • One to two years of nursing experience within family medicine clinics.

  • Current Basic Life Support BLS certification is required.

  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in all six clinic locations as needed.

  • Dependable, responsible, courteous, and tactful professional demeanor.

  • Strong dedication to maintaining the confidentiality of all patient medical records.

Working Conditions

  • Regular exposure to viruses, diseases, and infections within the clinical environment.

  • Patient care delivered to multiple age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to speak, listen, and utilize close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

  • Requires intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.

  • Ability to lift, support, and transfer patients safely using proper body mechanics.
