Senior Data Protection Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Protection Analyst based in United States.

As a Senior Data Protection Analyst, you will play a key role in helping customers identify, investigate, and mitigate data security risks. You will analyze security events, investigate potential insider threats, and conduct endpoint forensic analysis across complex environments. The role combines technical investigation, data analysis, incident response, and customer-focused problem solving. You will use data protection and security platforms to improve detection accuracy, refine policies, and uncover meaningful risk. You will also contribute to documentation, reporting, and project management throughout incident response activities. Accountabilities:

• Provide analytical insight into Data Loss Prevention (DLP) events, alerts, policies, and related security issues.
• Analyze data security event information to identify potential data loss risks and improve detection and response capabilities.
• Refine datasets, policies, and detection strategies as customer environments, risk profiles, and business requirements evolve.
• Investigate security incidents and events to identify patterns, risks, and potential insider threat activity.
• Conduct forensic analysis involving individuals, groups, endpoints, and unauthorized or non-sanctioned data egress destinations.
• Reduce noise and false positives in analytical results to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of security detection.
• Identify areas of risk within customer environments and provide actionable recommendations to support data protection strategies.
• Prepare clear summaries, reports, and findings for internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams.
• Support documentation and project management activities related to incident response and ongoing customer engagements.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Professional Services and Managed Services capabilities.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience working with data protection or adjacent security technologies such as EDR, SIEM, or SOAR, including at least 2 years focused on Insider Threat or Information Security.
• Strong understanding of endpoint protection best practices and incident investigation and mitigation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with DLP, Insider Threat, CASB, and security controls designed to protect sensitive information.
• Comfortable working across macOS, Linux, and Windows environments, as well as major cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Strong data analysis capabilities, including SQL, dashboard development, and the ability to work with security datasets.
• Experience editing XML-based DLP rules and using scripting and APIs to automate or support security analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex security events and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when presenting technical findings and recommendations.
• Collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a global team.
• Genuine interest in cloud security, data protection, emerging technologies, and evolving cybersecurity threats.
• Ability to balance technical investigation, customer needs, documentation, and incident response priorities in a fast-moving environment.
