Mintlify Seeks Senior Engineer With a Spike, Not a Whole Toolbox

Mintlify is hiring a Senior Product Engineer in San Francisco for full-stack engineering. It seeks applicants with at least four years of software development and a technical “spike,” such as complex React UI work or scalable backend systems. The hire would build customer-facing features from 0-to-1, profile performance, and help shape engineering approaches across the stack. Mintlify’s interview loop includes a showcase stage for a candidate’s area of expertise.## Job details**Company**Mintlify### Full job descriptionWhy Mintlify? We're on a mission to empower builders. - Massive reach: Our docs platform serves 100 million+ developers every year and powers documentation for 20,000+ companies, including Anthropic, Microsoft, PayPal, Spotify, Coinbase, X, and over 20% of the last YC batch. - Small team, huge impact: We recently passed 50 employees and raised a $45 million Series B led by A16Z and Salesforce Ventures. Each new hire has a huge impact on shaping the company's trajectory. - Culture of slope over y-intercept : We value learning velocity, grit, and unapologetically unique personalities. We grew in value faster than headcount and we’re looking to align the two quickly. Job Description We are looking for product-minded engineers who want to build critical, user-facing features. We don’t expect you to be an expert in everything. Instead, we are looking for candidates with a distinct \"spike\" in technical depth —whether that is crafting complex React UIs or architecting scalable backend systems. We have a stage in our interview process built-in for you to showcase your strengths. If you are already fullstack, a backend wizard who wants to get closer to the user, or a frontend architect ready to own full features, we want to hear from you. What you'll work on You won’t just be picking up tickets; you will have the agency to shape product direction and engineering approaches across the stack. - Build the full lifecycle: Collaborate closely with design and engineering to architect and ship customer-facing functionality from 0-to-1. - Solve complex technical challenges: Whether it’s optimizing virtualized rendering for large data collections or architecting reliable content management systems, you will tackle hard engineering problems. - Drive User Experience: Contribute to a smooth, delightful UX. You will help bridge the gap between \"working code\" and a \"great product.\" - Performance & Scale: Improve application performance through profiling and implement scalable solutions that grow with our user base. What you bring to the table - 4+ years of software development experience. - A Technical \"Spike\": You have deep, Senior/Staff level expertise in EITHER : - Product Intuition: You have a desire to work on front-facing products that users interact with daily. You care about the \"why\" as much as the \"how.\" - Adaptability: You are willing to step outside your comfort zone. If you are backend-heavy, you are willing to touch the frontend (and vice versa) to get a feature over the line. - Agency & Ownership: You thrive in environments where you define the solution rather than just implementing a spec. Why you should join our engineering team - Flexible Interview Process: We want to see you at your best. We have a built in \"showcase\" stage in our interview loop to focus on your specific area of expertise. - High Agency: Engineers at Mintlify aren't code monkeys; they are product builders. You will drive change and have a voice in strategic decisions. - Heads-down Builder Time: We protect your focus. We believe in small, mighty teams where the best ideas win, regardless of title. - Growth & Impact: We find the intersection between what excites you and business priorities. You’ll own projects, ship constantly, and see users benefit from your work immediately. Company Benefits: - Competitive compensation and equity - 20 days paid time off every year - 401k or RRSP - $420/mo. wellness stipend - 100% coverage for Health, dental, vision - Free Ubers to and from work - Free lunch and dinners - Annual team offsite (previously went to Alaska, Hawaii) #J-18808-Ljbffr Jobleads-US
