Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will suit a commercially minded and technically capable professional who can manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Projects may include treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, asset upgrades and associated civil, mechanical, electrical and process works.


Key responsibilities will include managing project scope, programme, budget, procurement, risk and change control; preparing and maintaining project execution plans, schedules, forecasts and progress reports; and providing clear leadership to internal teams, consultants, contractors and supply-chain partners. You will oversee design development, construction activities, commissioning and handover, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, contractual requirements, technical standards and environmental obligations. The role will also involve developing strong client relationships, leading progress and commercial meetings, resolving project issues, monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve delivery, efficiency and value.


Applicants should have significant experience managing major water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure or engineering projects, ideally within a contractor, consultancy, regulated utility or similarly complex delivery environment. A proven record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget is essential, together with strong knowledge of project controls, contract administration, health and safety, quality management and risk mitigation. Experience with NEC or other relevant forms of contract would be advantageous. You will be an excellent communicator and negotiator, confident working with senior stakeholders and able to motivate teams in a fast-paced environment. A relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is preferred, alongside appropriate professional membership or chartership where applicable.
