February 8-May 27, 2027 This course is designed to immerse prospective K-8 school teachers to the theoretical concepts, instructional methodology and appropriate materials for use in science education. The emphasis of this course is on science teaching; in addition, the integration of selected mathematical concepts and other subjects is modeled and addressed. The course focuses on children's thinking in science, curriculum planning, teaching reflection, and teaching/assessment techniques that promote differentiated instruction that facilitates the learning of science by all students. Experience in K-8 classrooms Familiarity with online modalities Previous experience teaching the course is preferred Applicants to all available course sections who are members of the Saint Mary's College bargaining unit or agency fee payers covered by the agreement with SEIU 1021, who have previously taught the course, or who have been determined qualified through the process outlined in Article 10, have only the following application requirements: Salary: $6,480 - $10,008 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here .
