Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must be able to pass the telemetry test. Experience in monitoring telemetry patients. EPIC experience required. Description: Candidates must have experience in general nursing skills such as IV starts, monitoring, lab work, medication administration, and patient education. Experience in blood product administration, central line care and management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and isolation precautions is required. Knowledge and management of dysrhythmias, as well as non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and phlebotomy are essential. Candidates should also be proficient in telemetry monitoring, both unit and remote, and be familiar with surgical drains and rapid response or code teams. Wound care and management skills are needed, as well as the ability to start and maintain IVs. Candidates may float to other areas if not needed on the home unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 4-5:1, with efforts to maintain a 4:1 ratio. This position may involve caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from surgical procedures. Interdisciplinary support teams are available, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Applicants are required to provide two professional references, with at least one being from someone in a leadership position. All candidates must be prepared for the credentialing process and fingerprinting requirements.
