School Nurse - ESY Camp
ESY Dates: July 7-10, 14-17, 21-24
Location: Perry Elementary (Friday, July 17th will be at Camp Fowler)
Stipend Position: $2000.00

The School District is seeking a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to support students enrolled in the Extended School Year (ESY) program during the summer. The School Nurse will provide healthcare services, manage student health needs, and collaborate with staff to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, and severe allergies, ensuring appropriate management and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain accurate health records, document care provided, and communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns.
• Collaborate with ESY staff to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that include health-related accommodations.
• Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and best practices in school nursing.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards in all interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Valid State RN or LPN License (School Nurse Certification preferred but not required).
2. Current CPR and First Aid certification .
3. Experience in pediatric, school, or public health nursing is preferred.
4. Demonstrates professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community.
5. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing demands and learning environments.
6. Ability to attend all scheduled ESY events/scheduled days.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and Coordinators.
8. Possesses high standards and integrity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Present as being flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
2. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with school personnel, students, parents and the public while complying with the confidentiality requirements on local, state, and federal policies and statutes
3. Working knowledge of computers and related instructional technology devices.
4. Working knowledge of software programs utilized in the school system.
5. Knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures with respect to student safety, security, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
