Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient role in a Critical Access Hospital setting with at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Critical Access Hospital offering outpatient/inpatient care, home visits, and swing bed program in a rural community
• Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, and regain independence
• Collaborate with providers and care teams across acute, outpatient, and long-term care settings
• Shift options include 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts, with hours ranging from 34-40 per week depending on census or caseload
• Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend
• No on-call requirement
• No floating to sister facilities required
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PT experience required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Experience across acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility settings
• Skilled in assessment techniques including AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
• Experience with orthopedic and neurologic patient populations, including post-op recovery and stroke rehabilitation
• Proficient in documentation including evaluations, care plans, and reassessments
• Skilled in use of equipment such as gait belts, hospital beds, and modalities like cryotherapy and ultrasound

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include developing home exercise programs and educating patients and families on safety and injury prevention
• Work environment includes geriatric and orthopedic patient populations with wound/ulcer management
• Open to first-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience
• Accepts local candidates

• Travel pairs accepted and can work the same shift
