Mechanical Engineer

Description: + The ideal candidate will be familiar with the US Navy aircraft carrier modernization and maintenance process, particularly planning and executing refueling complex overhauls (RCOHs) of aircraft carrier propulsion plants. + Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas is preferred: steam turbines or reduction gears. + In addition, expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: fluid mechanics, strength of materials, fasteners, shock analysis, GD&T, and/or repair of complex machinery. + This position requires the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook. Qualifications: + US Citizenship. + BS in Engineering. + 5 years of relevant experience. + Candidate must have excellent communication skills, be organized, and have strong project management skills. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
