Phlebotomist

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Rome, NY. This is a 3+ months with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Location: Rome, NY 13440 9Pay Rate: $18 - $19/hr. on W2 Duration: 3+ month *Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications Main Responsibilities Draw blood and collect other specimens (urine, stool, etc.). Explain the collection process to patients politely and clearly. Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens correctly. Match specimen labels with lab requisition forms and physician orders. Prepare and package specimens for transport. Maintain specimen quality by following proper storage and transport procedures. Update patient information and record maintenance data. Clean and disinfect equipment/work areas. Follow OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations. Attend required annual training. Answer phone calls and provide laboratory results when appropriate. Help with troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and staff training. Minimum Qualifications At least 6 months of venipuncture (blood draw) experience in a hospital or fast-paced lab. High School Diploma or GED. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite . 1–2 years of overall experience .
