Medical Assistant

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate medical assistant to join our team. As a medical assistant, you will work alongside healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your duties will include performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our occupational medicine clinic.

Schedule: PRN, as needed (Monday-Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, Sunday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

Compensation: Starting compensation range is $21.00-$24.00 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, assisting with billing and coding tasks
• Answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries
• Verifying insurance coverage and processing insurance claims
• Performing basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medications
• Assisting our providers with drug testing, physical evaluations, drawing blood samples and other clinical duties
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the back office and exam rooms
• Providing patient education and answering patient questions
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards
• Follow company policies, procedures, and directives
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the practice
• Assisting with medical procedures as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a medical assistant program preferred
• Certification as a medical assistant (CMA) or registered medical assistant (RMA) preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred
