Crew members will work Thursday through Saturday night from approximately 4:45 pm - 7:20pm. Crew members are the key players in the success of Tubing Operations. Crew Members will provide a safe environment for Tubing guests while providing unparalleled guest service. Tubing Operations will require a hands-on approach to safely guiding our guests through the thrills of tubing, ensuring a memorable experience. These tasks will allow Crew Members to bolster Winter Park Resort's reputation for employee friendliness and helpfulness. A successful Crew Member will be passionate about the outdoors and helping people create lasting memories in the Colorado Mountains. The Tubing Operation Crew Member will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes. Essential Duties Operate Tubing Hill Conveyor in accordance with CPTSB, ANSI B-77 and USFS Rules and Regulations Be alert for hazards and potential hazards involving passengers, employees and machinery Consistently follow safety procedures and utilize appropriate safety equipment Follow Winter Park Resort policies and procedures Excel as a guest relations representative for Winter Park Create and maintain a friendly, congenial and helpful attitude while effectively providing our tubing guests and other employees with assistance, information and/or directions Effectively handle first-line conflicts and grievances with guests and convey these to Supervisory Team Maintain a positive working atmosphere that encourages teamwork, cooperation and communication Complete lift logs, lift incident forms neatly, accurately and timely Communicate with Supervisory Team for updates on schedule changes, memos, policy changes, and special events Maintain uniform and appearance standards in accordance with Winter Park Resort guidelines Perform ticket validation duties when assigned Perform pre-opening inspection of tubing hill and tubing conveyor lift and record on daily log Operate tubing hill following established guidelines and procedures Open and close tubing hill according to posted times Maintain proper lift ramp height and tubing lane conditions to ensure safe loading, unloading, and lane design for guests Monitor tubing lanes from bottom and top to communicate go/stop, by lane, for guests queued at top Foster excellent guest relations through animation and promote positive guest interaction Follow duty rotation, as scheduled, through all stations Document all injuries/accidents on Tubing Hill Incident Report and administer 1st aid, as needed Call 911 to request guest-related and/or after-hours emergency assistance Call Ski Patrol at #1490 to request employee-related emergency assistance Successfully cope with physical and mental demands of the position such as adverse weather conditions, shoveling, lifting, and constant flow of guest interactions Education & Experience Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Guest Service Experience preferred Qualifications & Skills Must be at least 18 years of age (insurance requirement) Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and emergencies, as needed Physical Demands and Working Conditions Mountain Environment: The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc. The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common. Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment. Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being near vision and depth perception. Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate. Wage The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
