Utility Locator
Provides skilled work and oversight associated with locating and marking City utility lines in order to minimize accidental damage or disruption of service due to construction activities. This is accomplished by managing, planning and scheduling of daily locating, tracking and marking of the City's utilities including the water distribution system, wastewater collection system, reclaimed water system, storm water system, traffic signals and fiber optic. The Utility Locator will also serve as a field arm for customer service representatives and assist in responding to customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience in locating underground facilities including water and sewer. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of experience working independently with little supervision. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years experience maintaining a Water Distribution system. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of experience dealing with customers and the public in a customer service environment. The ideal candidate will possess an ADEQ Water Distribution Grade I or reciprocal from another state.
