Job Description:

This role provides event management consulting to TD Securities businesses and represents the Events Team on various projects and initiatives.

Depth & Scope:

• Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent setting goals developing staff managing employee performance and compensation decisions promoting teamwork and handling and / all disciplinary actions as required
• Provides event management consulting to TD Securities businesses and represents Events Team on various projects and initiatives
• Provides a high level of client service offering creative and innovative ideas and solutions by keeping on top of industry trends
• Responsible for directing and coordinating internal and external corporate events (e.g. industry conferences trade shows golf tournaments and internal employee events) ensuring events are aligned with business objectives and the firms core values and are executed with excellence
• Prepares budgets/cost allocations and post-implementation reviews for internal and external events
• Responsible for overseeing and maintaining creative templates liaising with Marketing and Technology departments
• Handles special marketing projects as requested by executives
• Liaises with external vendors and suppliers for special event functions
• Negotiates contracts that are favorable to TD at preferential prices
• Researches and pitches events that would be beneficial to the firm or specific departments
• Contributes to Event Teams efficiency and effectiveness by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and serve partners and clients better
• Partners with Event Manager in executing charitable events and employee giving campaigns
• Maintains proficiency with software applications/programs and/or department specific systems as required
• Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues as appropriate
• Efficiently manages expectations/concerns through strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Keeps others in the immediate team informed and up-to-date about the status/progress of projects and all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
• Be an effective team player and flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities
• Participates fully as a member of the team and contributes to a positive work environment
• Manages U.S. region season ticket and large arena venue contracts as well as disbursement and audit tracking for ticket supply

Education & Experience:

• Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma
• 3 years of related work experience
• Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk
• Demonstrates superior inter-personal skills conflict resolution and negotiating skills
• Experience in a large complex/matrix organization
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Flexible and able to quickly adapt to unfamiliar ambiguous or changing conditions
• Excellent analytical problem solving relationship management skills
• Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects as and when required
