Job Purpose

Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment, assisting the Generation Maintenance group as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment, including but not limited to:
   1. Perform routine greasing and lubrication activities on various pieces of mechanical equipment throughout the Generation Site.
   2. Work with Predictive Maintenance Technicians to optimize lubrication activities and equipment reliability.
   3. Perform routine filter cleaning and replacement activities on HVAC units and other equipment throughout the Generation Site.
2. Assist in construction, preventive, routine, and breakdown maintenance and repairs on all equipment in the power plant, Material Handling, and FGD facilities.

Other Responsibilities

1. Perform Tool Crib duties as assigned
2. Maintain a culture of safety within the department. Support the Utility's safety programs, complete training appropriate for the position, and provide safe working conditions and practices.
3. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the department. Utilize lean principles and other continuous improvement tools to maximize the efficiency of the department.
4. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of, or ability to obtain knowledge of, power generation equipment and facilities, including piping systems.
3. Knowledge of rail system and Federal Railroad Authority rules beneficial.

Skills

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all audiences, including customers.
2. Excellent interpersonal and listening skills, with ability to build productive professional relationships and promote a team atmosphere.
3. Proficiency with use of computers and mobile devices, including email, calendar, Internet browsers, and the Microsoft Office suite of products at a basic level.
4. Good problem identification, analysis, and solving skills.

1. Ability to work as part of a team, either as team leader or a member of a team.
2. Ability to drive results and ensure work is accomplished properly, safely, and in a timely manner.

4. Must have mechanical aptitude and be comfortable working with power tools, rigging, torches, and arc welders.

6. Ability to distinguish colors.

Other Position Requirements

1. Must possess a valid driver's license.
2. Must comply with the Utility's Respiratory Protection Program .
3. Must be able to attend work on a regular basis and work overtime as needed.
4. Must maintain a method of communication to be contacted by MPW outside normal work hours.

Work Environment

1. Work environment is primarily in an industrial coal-fired power plant.
2. Must be able to climb ladders and work from elevated platform, scaffolds, sky climbers, and temporary platforms for extended periods under various types of weather/seasonal conditions.
3. Must be able to perform the following regular and repeated physical tasks: shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, rodding, jackhammering, moving trash pumps, etc.
4. Must comply with all safety and site rules at all locations.
