Job Description:

The Senior Summer Resident Assistant (SSRA) is a paraprofessional staff member who supports the missions, goals, and objectives of High Point University and the Office of Residence Life.

This SSRA serves as the chief assistant for the summer programs. The Senior Summer Resident Assistant will be employed from May 30th, 2026 to July 31st, 2026 and will receive complimentary housing and a meal plan. The SSRA will also receive a monthly stipend of

$520.00 per month. The hours worked per week will not exceed 25 hours, which will include time spent on the duty rotation. While serving in the duty rotation, the Senior Summer RA will spend the rest of their allotted time per week in one of the functional areas within the Office of Residence Life and specific mandatory dates provided to them in their offer letter.

Responsibilities:

• Works in partnership with the supervising Community Director
• Assists in task delegation, staff meetings, one on one meetings, and scheduling
• Assists with training and processing of training information and job expectations
• Audits panther chats for maintenance concerns, care concern and referrals, and additional follow up needs
• Ensures tasks are completed by Summer Resident Assistant staff members prior to assigned deadlines
• Serves as a liaison between the supervisors and student staff
• Follows up with residents regarding low level care (homesickness)
• Leads and serves as a support role in roommate conflicts and mediations
• Partners with Office of Residence Life professional staff members to assist with summer projects
• Participate in duty-rotations, which includes assisting CD on Duty and Campus Security in crisis response/management, student lockouts and walk-throughs of residential communities
