Quality Control Specialist

Preferred Home Care of New York, a fully licensed Home Care Agency serving the NY Metropolitan area including Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties, is seeking an experienced , Quality Control Specialist for our Brooklyn Corporate Office who is a strong communicator, pays extremes attention to detail and is committed to excellence in customer service.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for conducting quality control audits to ensure accuracy of reported information and consistent quality standards are upheld. In this important position he/she liaises with Coordination, Authorizations, and Intake teams to retain patients and ensure all barriers from the patient receiving services are removed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate; some college credit preferred.
• One-year experience in other work-related experience, preferably within the health care services industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Constituent Database (HHA Exchange).
• Investigative ability, highly organized, self-motivated, takes initiative, excellent written and verbal communication and analytical critical thinking skills; able to perform without much supervision.
• Understands the regulations governing the home care field, related to Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance.
• Understanding of communicating effectively with employee, patients and their families, medical and community affiliates in order to develop positive relationships and retention purposes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to define problems and tasks, collect data and establish facts, reconcile information and facilitate resolve with Supervisors when necessary.
• Self-starter who will maximize number of patients reached per day.
