Registered Nurse - Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool

NOVEMBER 9 START ONLY 13 weeks Variable D/N Must work 2 of the following 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Must be willing to be placed on call - this is required *THIS IS A FLOAT POOL POSITION *Travelers in Acute Care Float Pool are expected to care for a wide range of patients at Rady Children s Hospital. Nurses in this pool will care for all age ranges, acute care levels of acuity and all diagnoses. *Traveler will receive 4 shifts total of orientation on 4 different units Pending State License accepted: Yes if we have an ETA from licensing of when it will post Years of experience REQ: 2 First-timer travelers accepted: (Y/N) : Y Weekend REQ: 4-5 weekend day shift (Sat/Sun) 6-7 weekend Night shifts (Fri/Sat/Sun). One full weekend off guarantee in 4 week period. National Certs REQ: BLS, PALS Is on-call REQ? Y Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? N Locals accepted: N RTO Restrictions: 6 days max, must still get 3 shifts in the week Guaranteed Hours: Hours are guaranteed after the call off policy has been met Special Requirements: CA license 2 years of strong Pediatric Medical experience Willing to float to all inpatient care areas except critical care float but including NICU PALS BLS Flu shot during flu season More information: Our 85-bed Medical Unit cares for children with a primary focus on respiratory diseases such as severe asthma, viral bronchiolitis, and pneumonia. The unit also manages patients with non-respiratory diagnoses, including diabetic ketoacidosis, metabolic disorders, and neurological conditions. With 42 inpatient beds, our Surgical Unit supports one of the busiest pediatric surgical centers on the West Coast, where more than 20,000 procedures are performed annually. Nurses in this unit gain extensive experience in managing post-operative care for a wide variety of surgical repairs. The 38-bed Hematology/Oncology Unit provides comprehensive care for those with cancer, blood disorders, neutropenia, BMT, and solid organ transplants. The 17-bed Medical Behavioral Unit treats young patients with medical complications arising from severe malnutrition and pediatric eating disorders, offering a unique integration of medical and behavioral care.
