For more information about Draper, visit Job Description Summary: The Inspector B is responsible for performing inspections and/or audits of purchased parts, materials, equipment and quality control programs. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units or systems for in-process or final assemblies. Performs sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials. Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on a variety of materials, components, assemblies, and/or systems.
• Document work results and generates inspectionreports.
• Types of inspections include visual, workmanship, dimensional, and electrical.
• Documents work results and generates inspection reports.
• Complies with safety and security rules and observes good housekeeping practices.
• Accomplishes assignments with minimum direct supervision.

Typical equipment used includes:

• For Mechanical Inspection Microscopes. micrometers, gage blocks, pin gauges, comparators, surface plates, height gages, rotary tables, coordinate measuring machines, and roundness and surface analysis equipment.
• For ElectricalInspection Oscilloscopes, Capacitance/impedance bridges, power supplies, and microscopes.

Skills:

• Able to use and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and work to inspection procedures.
• Able to follow and execute to verbal and written instructions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.

Education:

• High school diploma or its equivalent, plus two yearsof technical schooling related to engineering, science and/or mathematics.
• The two years schooling may be satisfiedthrough one ofthe following:

1. An Associates degree in an engineering or science program OR
2. Five college credit technical courses in the area of engineering, science, and/or mathematics. One college level writing class can be counted toward the five courses.

* Quality Inspector Certification (CQI) from the American Society of Quality (ASQ). Experience: * For employee who satisfy the Education requirement, a minimum of 4 years experience is required in a quality assurance organization performing tasks related to the inspection of either mechanical or electrical commodities. Typical Mechanical Commodities* Mechanical stampings, moldings, castings, threaded components, sheet metal parts, and bearings. Typical Electrical Commodities* electronic components, printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, wafer die, MCM/MEMS products, harness, connectors, or other electro* mechanical assemblies.
