Entry-Level Production Associate / Scrap Operator

Job Description

Join a growing manufacturing team where you'll play an important role in recycling and reclaiming aluminum materials. This is a great opportunity for candidates with warehouse, production, material handling, construction, landscaping, or general labor experience who are looking for a long-term career. No prior manufacturing experience is required, and training is provided.

You'll work with a team to process recyclable materials, assist machine operators, move materials throughout the facility, and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Process scrap and recyclable aluminum materials.
• Remove protective film and prepare materials for recycling equipment.
• Assist machine operators and production teams as needed.
• Move materials using pallet jacks and other equipment.
• Perform general housekeeping, sweeping, and work area cleanup.
• Help maintain a safe and organized facility.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Participate in training and cross-training opportunities.
• Operate forklifts after receiving company certification.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, production, construction, landscaping, material handling, or general labor preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable performing physical work and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
• Ability to work day or night shifts as assigned.

Work Schedule

Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:15 PM

Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:15 AM

Rotating schedule:

• 2 days on / 2 days off
• 3 days on / 2 days off
• 2 days on / 3 days off

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
