Who We’re Looking For: A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts well to change. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, learn quickly, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Qualifications: Education: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in a Science-related field. Experience: 1 to 4 years in the industry, with a focus on asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and mold/moisture inspections. Skills: Excellent communication, client management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Certifications: Asbestos: NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator license or ability to obtain Lead: Inspector/Assessor or Sampling Technician preferred; Additional certifications: CHMM, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 10/30 Hour Construction Safety, and CIE/CMI are desirable but not required. Other Requirements: Mastery of the English language – written and spoken. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to occasionally work at heights greater than 6 feet (examples: ladders, rooftops, man-lifts, scaffolding). Ability to occasionally work in confined spaces (examples: crawlspaces, attics). Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to walk up/down multiple flights of stairs. Ability to complete all mandatory trainings, including safety training. Availability for off-hour emergency work. Respond as a member of the Hillmann 24-hour disaster response team. *We welcome candidates with initial asbestos AHERA certifications eligible for state certification tests. Responsibilities: Maintain certifications and licenses. Respond to client emergencies as needed. Conduct thorough investigations related to Industrial Hygiene, including indoor air quality, mold/moisture inspections, asbestos surveys, and lead-based paint inspections. Develop remediation plans, report findings, and ensure compliance with industry guidelines. Collect air samples during asbestos abatement work to verify compliance with local, state and Federal regulations including background, daily and clearance air monitoring; accurately completing project records, log books and chain of custody forms; and timely submission of samples and required project documentation. Perform air and bulk sampling according to EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, and industry analytical methods. Perform limited asbestos containing material surveys. Perform other responsibilities as dictated.
