POSITION TITLE: Machinist DEPARTMENT: Maintenance EXEMPT: Circle One: No, Circle One: Hourly REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team. In this position, you will help repair and manufacture certain machine components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, micrometer, and grinding machines. Our ideal candidate has completed a training program through an industry apprenticeship or earned a machinist certificate from a vocational school and has at least one year of manufacturing experience. Prior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a plus. Major Responsibilities Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job Repair and manufacture certain machine components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, micrometer, and grinding machines Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and components Operate machines to grind, cut, and polish the materials Finish projects using manual tools Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure they remain in good working order Qualifications Education: High School Diploma (Required). Apprenticeship or machine certificate from a vocational school (Preferred). Experience: 1 year prior manufacturing experience (Preferred).
