This role is responsible for integrating new customer technical expectations seamlessly into the factory's capabilities, supporting the transition from low-rate to high-volume production, and spearheading the adoption of new automated production assets and software enhancements.What You'll DoEnsure strict adherence to paperwork and customer requirements for quality and complianceInterpret customer drawings and specifications, translating requirements into shop floor work instructions and inspection criteriaLead quality planning activities during NPI, including control plans, FAI documentation, and first article reportingOnboard new customers, ensuring the factory's technical capabilities meet their expectationsAssist in work prioritization and triage during peak production periods to maintain workflow efficiencyOwn problem solving and disposition of production defects, drive root cause problem solving to impact yield and rework ratesMaintain auditable production methods, ensuring documentation and processes are inspection-ready at all timesSupport and conduct internal audits, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions to closureLead the factory's transition from low-rate to high-volume manufacturing, identifying and implementing necessary changes in processes and infrastructureOnboard new automated production assets, collaborating with software engineering to drive improvements in software products that support manufacturing processesAdapt shop floor structure and processes to accommodate high-volume production needsCreate production processes in unstructured areas of our operational systemWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Engineering or another related STEM field and 4-6 years of engineering experience in a production environmentIn lieu of a degree, at least 5-6+ years of experience in a high-intensity production environment may be consideredFamiliarity with machining operations and experience working with very tight tolerances, especially in aerospace manufacturingComprehensive knowledge of GD&TFamiliarity with NPI frameworks (PPAP, FAI, or equivalent)Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsWhat Will Set You ApartMaster's degree in Engineering or STEM related field5+ years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environmentKnowledge of quality systems specifically AS9100Experience supporting or leading internal audits in a regulated manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologiesExperience applying software approaches (SQL, VBA, Python, etc.)Proficiency with various ERP/MRP systemsAbility to articulate and defend engineering decisionsCompensationFor this role, the target salary range is $89,000 - $145,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
