City/StateNorfolk, VAWork ShiftThird (Nights)Overview:Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Norfolk General Hospital's Mother-Baby Unit, in Norfolk Virginia.Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 offered for qualified candidates.Shift: Full Time, Night shift (7a-7p)Department OverviewSentara Norfolk General Hospital's Postpartum Mother-Baby Unit is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse who has compassion and patience for providing special care to our new Moms and Infants.The Sentara Norfolk General Mother-Baby Unit is a 30-bed unit. Our Nurses assess, ensure that proper healing is occurring, and provide self-care education to our new Moms during the post-partum stay. The unit encourages the new Mom to room with their new baby. The Mom-Baby Nurse sees that the newborn is assessed, cleaned, fed, and swaddled, and educates the new Mom on proper infant care.OverviewThe Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
