Registered Nurse Trauma Job

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Trauma General Surgery Inpatient Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Must have Epic experience Must have level 1 trauma experience Must have 1:6 ratio experience Description: 7 East is a trauma and general surgery inpatient unit. This unit is a nationally recognized comprehensive bariatric surgery center. The unit includes both stepdown and floor patients. Nurses will encounter a variety of patient conditions and care modalities. Experience with complex wound care, drains, and devices is required. Nurses will manage traumatic injuries, chest tubes, and respiratory support. Experience with traumatic brain injuries and complex spinal cord injuries is necessary. Nurses work collaboratively with care management and various services. There is a focus on critical thinking and effective time management. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6 for floor patients and 1:3 for stepdown patients. Nurses will be responsible for monitoring patient vital signs and recognizing abnormalities. There is a requirement to float to similar units if needed. All nurses are expected to participate in the holiday schedule as required. The dress code for this unit is royal blue.
