Job Title: Lightweight Team Assistant (Temporary, Part-Time) Department: Sports Marketing Location: Burlington, VT Hours: 32 hours per week Job Overview Lightweight Team Assistant is responsible for the day‑to‑day management and logistical support of Burton’s Lightweight team, a group of young international snowboarders. As the primary operational point of contact for team riders, this role manages product ordering and distribution, travel coordination, expense management, and provides hands‑on exposure to sports marketing in the action sports space. Responsibilities Product Management & Shipping Build lifelong relationships with Lightweight team riders, establish trust and mentor riders. Manage all product orders, ensuring accurate sizing, timely fulfillment and delivery. Oversee sample orders and PO placement to ensure athletes & ambassadors have future season products. Ensure all products are shipped from the warehouse and Craig’s Prototype Facility to athletes on time and within budget. Coordinate and track outbound shipments of athlete product. Maintain organized records of product allocations, order history, and inventory needs for each rider. Communicate proactively with riders regarding order status, tracking, delivery timelines, and any shipping issues. Partner with product and sports marketing teams to ensure correct seasonal products. Support all Burton and Anon Sports Marketing projects as needed. Travel & Rider Support Coordinate domestic and international travel logistics for team riders. Support riders at events, contests, photoshoots, providing on‑ground logistical assistance. Serve as a point of contact during trips, ensuring needs are met promptly. Assist with scheduling and itinerary management for team travel. Act as liaison and host between athletes & ambassadors when they visit headquarters. Expense & Budget Management Process and track expense reports within 10 business days of each trip or expenditure. Support team members in understanding travel and expense guidelines. Communicate proactively with manager on budget usage and flag any spending concerns. Maintain accurate records of team‑related expenses and assist with budget reconciliation. Team Administration & Communication Help riders conceptualize and propose projects for sponsorship. Work with social and content teams to support content capture and deployment. Maintain focus on up‑and‑coming riders and propose new talent to management team. Act as day‑to‑day liaison between riders and internal marketing. Maintain up‑to‑date rider contact information, documents, sizes, files. Support marketing team with administrative tasks related to the program. Job Requirements Experience Background in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or related field. 1–2 years of marketing, team management, logistics or operations support role, preferably within action sports, youth athletics, or snowboard industry. Familiarity with snowboarding or action sports culture is required. Organizational & Time Management Exceptional organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work independently with proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset. Comfortable working across international time zones and varied cultural backgrounds. Required to be in the Burlington VT office Monday‑Thursday 9 AM‑5 PM; flexible other days. Communication Strong written and verbal communication skills; clear and professional with athletes, parents, internal team, partners. Maintain discretion handling sensitive athlete or contract information. Responsive and reliable via email, phone, messaging platforms. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Experience with logistics, shipping platforms, or expense tools is a plus. Additional Requirements Valid passport and ability to travel internationally. Valid driver’s license. Must transport up to 50 lbs on snow. Must pack and ship 50 lb boxes. Experience with cameras (filming or photo) is a plus. Experience in graphic design is a plus. Travel Required This position requires approximately 25% travel, including domestic and international trips to events, contests, and photoshoots. Must be available for flexible hours during events, including weekends.
