CICU/CVICU Registered NurseJob Title: CICU/CVICU Registered NurseProfession: Registered NurseSpecialty: Cardiac Intensive Care UnitDuration: 13 weeksShift: Rotating Day/NightHours per Shift: 12 hoursExperience: 2 years of experience required; will accept first-time travelers with strong skill/experience in CVICULicense: Active state RN licenseCertifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIH; CCRN preferredMust-Have: EOW (every other weekend) requiredHolidays required as scheduledFloating required within specialty and to lower acuity patients as neededOn-call may be requiredDescription: Responsible for providing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. Common diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and heart failure. Manage patients with advanced therapies and mechanical support devices. Perform bedside procedures such as central line insertions and bronchoscopy. Monitor patients closely, including interpreting vital signs and lab results. Work cooperatively with interdisciplinary support teams. Participate in patient and family education as part of care. Ensure adherence to established protocols and safety guidelines. Respond effectively to emergencies and acute medical situations. Document patient care accurately in the electronic charting system. Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities. Rotate shifts regularly to meet unit staffing needs.
