Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens, including patient initials and signatures post-venipuncture.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures and patient information.
• Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
• Perform specimen collection and processing duties with confidence, adhering to established practices and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information at all times.
• Travel between multiple locations as needed to cover various patient service centers or in-office phlebotomy locations.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, based on staffing needs.

Required Skills

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver license and clean driving record, if applicable.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, required.
• Experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
• Flexible and available to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with potential weekends, holidays, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to professionalism, safety, and patient confidentiality.
