Senior Associate – Legal Practice Location: New York City, NY Job Type: Full-Time We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Associate to join a well-established legal practice based in New York City . This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing attorney who is looking to take the next step in their career, working closely with Partners and clients on a broad range of complex and sophisticated matters. The successful candidate will have strong technical legal expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to the wider success of the practice. Key Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload of complex legal matters from inception through to resolution. Provide high-quality legal advice to clients, understanding both their legal and commercial objectives. Draft, review and negotiate a range of legal documentation, agreements, pleadings and correspondence. Conduct detailed legal research and analysis and apply findings effectively to client matters. Work closely with Partners and other members of the legal team on complex and high-value matters. Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients and other key stakeholders. Take responsibility for managing matters efficiently, including deadlines, budgets and client expectations. Support and mentor junior associates and contribute to the development of the wider team. Play an active role in business development and identifying opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships. Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulation and developments within the relevant practice area. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate: Qualification as an attorney and admission to the New York Bar . Strong experience within a reputable law firm or legal practice. Demonstrable experience handling complex matters with a high level of independence. Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation and analytical skills. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand and anticipate client needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The confidence to work directly with clients and senior stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. A collaborative approach, with the ability to support and develop more junior members of the team. A proactive and commercially focused mindset, with an interest in contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
