Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: None specified Description: This unit has a 24-bed capacity with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3/4, depending on acuity. The patient population includes those with dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications. An educator is available on the unit to work closely with staff. Type of medication drips administered include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine. Staff may be required to work every other weekend. Throughput is high, as is expected in all stepdown units. Cancellation policy allows for 3 shifts per 13-week contract or 2 shifts per contracts less than 12 weeks. The charting system used is EPIC.
