IBM API Connect Lead

IBM API Connect Lead onsite in Lansing, MI . NO STUDENT VISAS (NO OPT / CPT) Responsibilities Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise API and integration solutions. Develop and manage APIs using IBM API Connect (APIC) and related middleware technologies. Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements, solution designs, and implementation plans for API and integration development. Work with AWS and Kubernetes platforms to deploy and manage API solutions in cloud and containerized environments. Implement and support API security standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and TLS. Configure and support IBM DataPower Gateway and API Gateway policies. Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to analyze requirements and define scalable technical solutions. Provide technical leadership to the team, including design guidance, code reviews, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior developers. Design scalable, secure, and reusable integration services aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with architects, business analysts, application teams, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Participate in release planning, deployment activities, defect resolution, and production support. Ensure adherence to API governance, performance, logging, monitoring, and operational best practices. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in integration, API development, and middleware technologies. 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM API Connect (APIC). Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes is required. Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and integration solutions. Strong hands-on experience in designing and developing REST and SOAP services. Strong understanding of API security standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and TLS. Experience with JSON, XML, XSLT, and API design best practices. Hands-on experience with IBM DataPower Gateway. Experience deploying and managing API solutions in cloud and containerized environments. Proven experience in technical leadership, team mentoring, and guiding delivery. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM MQ, IBM Transformation Extender (ITX), and Red Hat OpenShift. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for API and integration delivery. Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and microservices-based architecture.
