Compensation: USD 55,500 - USD 62,250 - yearly Company Description KIPP Miami is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national nonprofit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools educating elementary, middle and high school students. KIPP has a 25-year track record of preparing students for success in college and life. Founded in 2018, KIPP Miami operates two nonprofit charter schools in Greater Miami’s Urban Core community. Currently, KIPP Miami educates students in grades K-4 at KIPP Royalty Academy and 5-8 students at KIPP Courage Academy. To learn more, visit or visit us on Instagram KIPP Miami Tech will begin with an inaugural ninth-grade class in school year 2026-2027 and grow to serve grades 9-12, providing students with the academic foundation, professional skills, and real-world experiences necessary to excel in college or career pathways. KIPP Miami Tech will offer three specialized career academies: Business, Commercial & Digital Arts, and Technology. Students will graduate with not only a high school diploma, but also with college credits, industry-recognized credentials, and hands‑on experience that provide a head start on their futures. Applicants, please note that this role has a projected start date in July 2026 Job Description KIPP Miami seeks an experienced High School Algebra Teacher to design and deliver a rigorous, college‑preparatory Algebra program. The ideal candidate has a proven record teaching high school mathematics and can lead courses such as Algebra I, Algebra II, or Geometry, while preparing students for advanced math pathways including Pre‑Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AICE Mathematics, and IB Mathematics. Coursework will integrate career and technical education (CTE) strands (e.g., financial literacy, computer science foundations, engineering applications, and data science) and problem‑based learning tied to South Florida’s industries and higher education opportunities. What We’re Looking For Instructional Excellence: You design rigorous, engaging, culturally responsive math lessons that ensure mastery for all students. Advanced Program Mindset: You prepare students for higher‑level coursework (AP, AICE, IB, Dual Enrollment) by building strong algebraic foundations. CTE Builder: You integrate real‑world math applications and industry certifications, and you are eager to grow your own CTE skill set. Data‑Driven & Reflective: You analyze student evidence, iterate quickly, and share best practices with colleagues. Heartbeat Aligned: You embody KIPP Miami’s Heartbeat Principles by fostering strong relationships, equity, and joy in learning. Key Roles and Responsibilities Plan and teach a rigorous, standards‑aligned math curriculum (including Honors and advanced pathways) that meets Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards and Miami‑Dade advanced program expectations. Design unit plans that develop mathematical reasoning across technology‑rich instruction and inquiry‑driven pedagogy, leveraging project‑based learning to strengthen real‑world application of concepts (finance, computer programming, engineering design). Assessment & Data Develop assessments and performance tasks aligned to state benchmarks and advanced programs; use data to provide targeted support and track mastery. Prepare students for state exams, college‑readiness benchmarks, and advanced program entry points (AP, AICE, IB, Dual Enrollment). Advanced Programs & Pathways Collaborate with the mathematics department to ensure vertical alignment from Algebra I through advanced math courses. Provide equitable access to rigorous coursework that prepares students for AP, AICE, IB, and Dual Enrollment math. CTE Integration Embed CTE competencies and prepare students for industry‑recognized certifications relevant to mathematics applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel Specialist, OSHA‑10, Introduction to Coding, Data Analytics Fundamentals). Complete required CTE coursework and state examinations within the prescribed timeline (see Qualifications) and maintain all related credentials. Culture & Family Partnership Model and uphold KIPP Miami’s Heartbeat Principles in all interactions; create an inclusive, purposeful classroom culture with high expectations and joy. Partner with families through transparent progress reporting, student‑led conferences, and proactive communication. Prepare students for industry‑recognized certifications (e.g., OSHA‑10, CAD fundamentals, pre‑engineering certifications). Professionalism Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities, content teams, and advanced programs alignment. Contribute to a school‑wide culture of continuous improvement through coaching cycles, peer feedback, and shared best practices. Qualifications Required Education & Experience Bachelor's degree is required Degree and/or substantive career experience in Mathematics, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Finance, or related STEM field. At least two (2) years of full‑time high school teaching experience in mathematics (required). Prior success teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, or Geometry with strong student outcomes. Valid Florida Educator Certificate (or eligibility) in Mathematics (6–12). (Candidates pursuing reciprocity or temporary certification must be eligible under Florida statutes.) Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous instruction and achieve measurable student growth in high school Algebra. Commitment to complete required CTE coursework and pass state CTE examinations relevant to assigned pathways within the first 24 months of employment (tuition/fees may be eligible for reimbursement per KIPP Miami policy). Strong proficiency with instructional technology and data‑driven decision‑making. Satisfactory background check and fingerprint clearance. Experience integrating CTE content and preparing students for industry certifications. Physical Requirements The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at computer or working at desk and significant fine finger dexterity. Often required to stand and sit. Walk frequently and climb stairs. Additional Information The salary range for this role is $55,550-$62,250, commensurate with experience.
