Assistant Teacher / Lead Teacher

$20 - $50 per hour

Job Description

Positions available for Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers . We are seeking passionate and energetic teachers to deliver curriculum in enrichment programs and/or classes that are offered through Discover STEAM Inc. We use the Socratic teaching method, encouraging students to express their thoughts. Our curriculum is very hands-on and involves student directed exploration, collaboration and dialogue. We serve grades 1-8. Current openings exist for PT teachers in Montgomery County, MD and Herndon, VA.

General Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Excellent work ethic, be punctual, reliable, self-reliant and good team player
Enthusiasm for teaching, learning and encouraging students
Pass fingerprinting and background check

Successful candidates for Lead Teacher positions will have

Teaching experience working with one or more of our age groups (grades preK-5, 6-8 and 9-12)
Minimum of 2 years of college with courses in Science, Mathematics, Art, Engineering or similar
Salary $20- $50/ hour

Successful candidates for Assistant Teacher positions will have

Some experience with managing groups of students
Familiarity and/or excitement about the field(s) of Science, Mathematics, Art, Engineering or similar
Salary $18 - $25/ hour
