About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate required; ACLS or AWHONN Advanced preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required First-time travelers accepted Staffing ratio for labor is 1:1 Staffing ratio for mother/baby is 1:3-4 couplets Description: The Labor and Delivery unit delivers approximately 100 babies each month. This unit is a true LDRP. The facility operates as a teaching hospital with both family medicine and obstetrics residency programs. In-house OB Hospitalist and dedicated anesthesiologist available 24/7. Royal blue scrubs are required. Candidates should be comfortable with a variety of skills including administration of blood products, labor and delivery processes, and neonatal resuscitation. Candidates will assist with both high-risk deliveries and routine care of mothers and babies. Expect to provide support for breastfeeding and discharge teaching for parents. The unit has 22 beds and typically manages a daily census of 12 patients. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy, among others. Candidates should be prepared for weekend shifts as required. Travelers must meet compliance requirements applicable to the role. This role requires an understanding of epidemiology and infection control protocols.
