Job Title: Medical Lab Technician Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Lab Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable - 5x8s Eve and Nights Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 1 year License: Valid State License (Pending License Accepted) Certifications: ASCP MLT or MLS, BLS preferred Must-Have: Blood Bank, CMP, CPC, COVID, FLU, Urine skills Description: The Medical Lab Technician will work in a critical access hospital setting. They will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures. The technician will be required to work a variable schedule, including evenings and nights. Call requirements will be every four weeks for one week. The technician may float within the facility to meet needs. Housing and a vehicle will be provided during the assignment. Pets are not allowed in the housing unit. The technician must adhere to facility policies regarding the vehicle use, including maintaining insurance coverage. The position requires working with various patient age groups. The ideal candidate must have skills in blood bank procedures, urinalysis, and various microbiology cultures. Call rotation includes evenings for weekdays and weekends as needed. Housing will be available for move-in shortly before the contract begins. The technician will need to clean the housing unit before departure. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a hospital clinical laboratory setting.
