The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Project Engineer who is ready to move up to an Assistant Project Manager. The PE must have a desire to progress from PE to APM to PM and must have a construction backgound with strong communication skill and a demonstrated ability to work with architects and subcontractors. The PE will be responsible for RFI's and submittals on multiple projects so the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines is critical.

Job Summary

A Project Engineer has the responsibility of assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in the construction and post-construction process according to the Procedures Manual. This position still reflects the values and vision of the company even though it is in a supportive and learning role with the Project Manager. For the learning process to be successful, the Project Engineer is encouraged to ask questions often.

Customer Relationship

·        Assist Project Manager in identifying client’s needs (includes architects and engineers)

·        Deal successfully in a professional manner with the Owner, Architect and Engineers

·        Deal successfully in a professional manner with Subcontractors and Vendors

·        Deal successfully in a professional manner with CZ Project Team (Field & Office)

Construction Responsibilities

·        Prepares and maintains the contact list for each project,

·        Accurately checks and ensures timely submittal of all shop drawings and maintains accurate files (See procedures manual).

o   Accurately checks and ensures timely answers to all RFI’s and maintains accurate files for architect/engineer review.

o   For critical RFI’s - If necessary or requested by our Supt arrange a meeting between Sub/Architect/Engineer/Supt to review the field condition to resolve in a timely manner

·        Prepare and maintains all project logs (RFI ,Submittal,  and photos).

·        Distributes Plans/Specs/Addenda to Subcontractors, Superintendents and Project Manager.

·        Assist Superintendent in tracking completion of the punch list items in a timely manner

o   after they have been issued and ensuring consultants sign off on the punch list after completion

o   (10 business days maximum by contract for completion after issuance).

Project Close-Out

·        Receives and checks O & M manuals for receipt, verification and distribution.

·        Assist in acquiring all warranty information.

·        Responsible for complete and accurate Close-Out books, meeting all deadlines set by Owner

·        (30 days maximum by contract after Substantial Completion)

·        Distributes final documents to Owner and Architect for final review.
