Material Handler

The Material Handler executes a wide range of material movement activities, including receiving, put away, picking, staging, and shipping within a medical device production and warehouse environment. In this role, you process inbound and outbound materials on the dock and in warehouse storage locations while maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and inventory integrity. You operate material handling equipment safely, follow established safety protocols, and ensure all transactions are documented correctly in the warehouse management and ERP systems to support smooth and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound materials on the dock, verify documentation and quantities, and ensure accurate put away into designated warehouse storage locations.
• Pick, stage, and ship outbound materials according to order requirements, ensuring items are processed efficiently, correctly, and on time.
• Use RF scanners to record and track material movements, support documentation accuracy, and maintain up-to-date inventory records in the warehouse management system.
• Operate electric-powered material handling equipment and other warehouse tools safely and effectively while adhering to all safety and cGMP requirements.
• Coordinate shipment planning, truck scheduling, and material flow to support efficient warehouse operations and on-time deliveries.
• Serve as a liaison across cross-functional teams and shifts, providing timely communication, updates, and alignment on operational priorities.
• Manage issue resolution and exception handling related to material flow, inventory discrepancies, or documentation problems to minimize operational delays.
• Perform administrative tasks such as completing documentation, preparing reports, and supporting compliance activities to ensure audit readiness.
• Support the release and allocation of outbound orders within the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Organize daily workload, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and maintain clear written and verbal communication with team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operational success in both warehouse and production areas.

Essential Skills

• At least one year of recent material handling experience in a warehouse or production environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with an ERP system for inventory and materials management.
• Ability to operate electric-powered material handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Proficiency using RF scanners to document material movements and ensure items are processed efficiently and correctly.
• Comfortable using computer systems with demonstrated data entry skills and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Solid mathematical abilities to handle counts, measurements, and inventory reconciliations.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address material flow issues, inventory discrepancies, and process exceptions.
• Ability to follow cGMP requirements and work effectively in a regulated environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment, preferably related to medical device production or similar industries.
• Experience in inventory control and production support within a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and documentation practices supporting audit readiness.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and shifts and maintain clear communication in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

You work in a medical device production facility that combines clean rooms and warehouse operations under one roof. The environment is air conditioned, supporting comfort throughout your shift. Operations follow cGMP standards, with a strong focus on cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance. You use electric-powered material handling equipment, RF scanners, ERP and warehouse management systems, and standard warehouse tools to perform your tasks. The schedule follows a rotating pattern of 4 days on and 3 days off, then 3 days on and 4 days off, in a fast-paced but well-structured setting that emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
