Location: Sterling, Virginia


Job Status: Salary


Schedule: Monday-Friday | Approximately 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.


Caseload: 15-20 clients


About the Role:


The Clinical Therapist partners closely with clients to design, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that support long-term recovery. This role integrates evidence-based, person-centered practices to address co-occurring disorders, family systems, and other factors influencing each client's progress. You'll motivate clients, facilitate therapeutic programming, and help them build the skills needed to sustain meaningful change.


Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health, physical health, addiction history, and readiness for treatment
  • Facilitate daily group therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities
  • Complete all clinical documentation on the same day services are provided
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans, goals, and objectives
  • Provide education on medically assisted treatment options and coordinate with medical and psychiatric teams
  • Review treatment recommendations with clients and families, supporting shared decision-making
  • Coach clients in developing recovery-focused skills and behavior-change strategies
  • Identify behaviors, triggers, and environmental factors that may hinder recovery
  • Educate families on addiction and behavioral disorders, offering tools to support their loved one
  • Provide case management support, including referrals to community resources and employment services
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active Virginia license or credential permitting independent practice in Drug and Alcohol Counseling
  • At least 2 years of post-licensure experience treating substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders
  • Knowledge of case management for dual-diagnosis clients and familiarity with medically assisted treatment options
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Cultural competence and the ability to support diverse and gender-specific needs
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethics
  • Strong customer-service orientation with constructive, collaborative communication
