Azure Platform Engineer (Data & Analytics)

Our client is seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to support and evolve a modern, enterprise-scale data platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in Azure-native environments and enjoys building reliable, high-performing data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making. This is a hybrid position based in Dutchess County, NY.

Starting at $55/hour.

Azure Platform Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, build, and support scalable data platforms leveraging Microsoft Azure services.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to analyze complex datasets and support business insights.
• Implement and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lake architectures.
• Support large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and analytics workflows.
• Work with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake Storage.

Azure Platform Engineer's Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience working within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong SQL expertise with proven ability to work with complex data structures.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, and operational best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-starter mindset.
• Azure certifications such as Administrator or Solutions Architect are a plus.
