Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Bronx, NY

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts. Every other weekend and possible holiday rotation required. Flexibility is essential as self-scheduling and block scheduling are not allowed.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover, and will be expected to provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population. Cohorting patients as needed and floating to medical/surgical telemetry units may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room setting, adhering to practice standards.
• Assess and monitor patients, including those with general medical, tele, and psychological conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including handling trach patients.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently as there are no monitor techs available on the unit.
• Float to other units as needed based on patient care requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Previous Emergency Room experience required.
• Experience with vented trach patients preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Must possess an active RN license.
