Scheduling Specialist - Day Shift

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: ob Title: Scheduling Specialist Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: 40hrs/wk, 9a-5:30pm (may change during interview process per department needs) Under the direction of the Regional Patient Access Call Center Manager, the Scheduling Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate appointment scheduling with expertise in scheduling protocols, registration, insurance requirements/verification, identification of accurate patient responsibility with notification to the patient for the Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Region which includes: Mercy Fitzgerald, Nazareth Hospital, St. Francis Wilmington and St. Mary Medical Center Langhorne. Responsible for pre-registration, scheduling, electronically verifying insurance eligibility & accurately identifying & collecting patient financial responsibility. Handles complex scheduled events, including high dollar testing, associated studies & those with study specific instructions & communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow & customer service. Begins the overall patient experience & initiate the billing process for any services provided by the hospital Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems and have demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes with a minimum of two (2) to five plus (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting Experience in complex facility based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states Ability to schedule for multiple facilities with significant variants in protocols Strong knowledge of third-party and government payer billing and reimbursement guidelines as well as department performance standards and policies and procedures Preferred NAHAM CHAA or AAHAM CRCS certification Position Highlights and Benefits: Comprehensive benefit packages, including medical, dental, vision, mental health, paid time off, 403B, education assistance and voluntary benefits (pet insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity and others) available from the first day of employment.
