PHARMACY SPECIALIST

City/State Yonkers, New York Grant Funded No Department RX - Yonkers Specialty Rx Bargaining Unit 1199 Work Shift Day, Alternate weekends Scheduled Hours 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (7.5 hours daily) Hourly Rate $37.54 Position Summary Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions, assists in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies. Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department including ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging as well as provision of ambulatory services. Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control. Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required. Education and Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on-the-job training. PTCB certification. NYS Pharmacy Technician license and registration. Experience in retail pharmacy preferred. Must be able to work every other weekend. Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures. Excellent communication, customer service and business interpersonal skills.
