Quality Assurance Lead

Join our team at our Leesport, PA facility as a Quality Assurance Lead, where you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality on the production floor. This hands-on, interactive position is ideal for individuals with strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills who are passionate about maintaining and improving food safety systems. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will work closely with production teams, management, and regulatory staff to uphold our commitment to quality and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily execution of food safety and quality systems on the production floor.
• Perform all duties of a QA Technician, including monitoring process controls, GMPs, pre-operational and operational sanitation, and personnel practices.
• Collect samples for microbiological and chemical testing as required.
• Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions when deviations from standards occur.
• Monitor employee compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs.
• Document, monitor, and analyze quality data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products, packaging materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Lead incident and complaint investigations, verifying the effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions.
• Conduct routine and non-routine quality audits, including GMP, document, CAPA verification, process assessments, and HACCP audits.
• Oversee and ensure completion of quality improvement projects.
• Collaborate with USDA FSIS inspection staff and plant management teams.
• Serve as backup in the absence of the QA Supervisor.
• Report any animal welfare or food safety issues to management immediately.
• Report damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings using maintenance work order software.
• Follow all biosecurity, animal welfare, and good warehousing practices, and monitor for compliance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing facility, or a college degree in a related science field.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with upper management.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to assist others.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies.
