Family Medicine Medical Director 

30 Minutes to Syracuse, New York 

Position Highlights: 

• Provide full-spectrum family medicine care to a diverse rural population
• Lead and oversee the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program
• Supervise and mentor resident physicians and medical students
• Ensure program compliance with ACGME accreditation standards
• Promote community engagement and rural health initiatives
• Collaborate with hospital and clinic leadership on strategic planning

Clinical Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary care (pediatrics through geriatrics)
• Perform in-office procedures as appropriate
• Participate in shared call schedule
• Maintain high-quality, patient-centered care standards
• Support population health and preventative care initiatives

Medical Director Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for the residency program
• Develop curriculum and oversee educational programming
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and residents
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
• Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts
• Serve as liaison between residency program and hospital/health system leadership
• Participate in recruitment and community outreach efforts

Qualifications: 

• Degree:   MD or DO degree from accredited institution
• Certifications:   Board Certified in Family Medicine
• Licensure:  Eligible for medical licensure in New York State
• Skillset:   Demonstrated leadership ability, Passion for rural and underserved populations
• Experience:   Minimum 3–5 years clinical experience
